Frequently asked questions

Short, plain answers to the questions we hear most. If you do not see yours, get in touch and we will help.

How does buying a plot work?

Browse the map or the directory, filter by location and type, and open any space that fits. When you find one you like, you contact the seller through us and the two of you agree on the details together. Searching is free.

How does selling a plot work?

Create a listing with a few details about the space, the cemetery, and your asking price. We review it, then it goes live for buyers to find. When a buyer reaches out, you talk directly and settle the sale on your own terms.

What does it cost to list a plot?

For an individual selling a plot they own, listing is a flat $49.99 a year. That is the only price you pay to us. There is no free tier and no per-sale fee.

Do you take a commission on the sale?

No. We are a marketplace, not a broker. We never take a cut of the sale price. The money stays between the buyer and the seller, and the only thing a seller pays us is the flat yearly listing fee.

How do I pay the listing fee?

When you create a listing, you pay the flat $49.99 a year right on the site through a secure checkout. There is no invoice to chase and no email back-and-forth. If checkout is ever unavailable, we save your listing and send you a secure payment link by email instead.

Is searching and buying free for buyers?

Yes. Browsing the map, searching the directory, and contacting a seller are all free for buyers. The yearly fee applies only to the person listing a space.

How do cemeteries list their spaces?

Cemeteries can list the spaces they have available, including in bulk. Visit our cemeteries page to see how it works and to request access to the listing portal.

Is my plot's cemetery already on Eturnal Rest?

Very likely. We have mapped more than 35,000 cemeteries and memorial parks across the country. Search the directory or open the map and look for it by name or town.

What if my cemetery is not listed yet?

If you cannot find it, send a message from the contact page with the cemetery name and location. It reaches us right away, no email app needed, and we will add the cemetery so you can list your space there.

What does a good listing need?

The basics: which cemetery the space is in, the type of space (plot, crypt, or niche), the location within the grounds if you know it, and your asking price. A short note about the space and any paperwork you hold makes a listing far easier for buyers to trust.

Is payment safe? How does money change hands?

Payment for the space itself happens directly between the buyer and the seller, often with the cemetery's office handling the transfer of ownership on their records. We do not hold the sale money. Always confirm the transfer with the cemetery before any funds change hands, and never wire money to someone you have not verified.

Will my contact details be made public?

No. We never publish a seller's email or phone number. Buyers reach you through us, so your personal details stay private until you choose to share them.

Do you verify cemeteries and listings?

We review listings before they go live, and verified cemeteries carry a badge so you can see at a glance which records have been confirmed. It helps both sides know what they are looking at.

Can I plan ahead before I need a space?

Absolutely, and many families do. You can browse, compare, and reach out at your own pace. Planning early takes the pressure off later, and there is no obligation to buy.
